Staying Charged

What if our phones only stayed charged according to how much we spend time in God's Word, prayer, worship, and sharing Jesus with others?!! How charged would your phone stay?

We live in a time now where our phones are our a part of our daily lives. We panic when we see the red in our battery percentage or if we leave it at home and then realize it later. We feel like we will miss a phone call, a text, or a Candy Crush request.

Yes, our phones are important to our daily lives with emails, pictures, social media, texting, and so on. We use it for business, to stay connected, and from time to time try to get that just right selfie. I even use mine for an alarm clock and reminders. They are so functional.

But we all know that feeling when our phone lets us know we only have 20% left, then 10% and we are in 911 mode trying to find a charger and an outlet. At times we may even beg someone to borrow theirs. But we also know that feeling when our phone is 100% or anything above 90%.

It is the opposite spiritually. We are around people everyday who could die without Jesus yet we don't have the same urgency to share Jesus with them as we do to plug up a phone that is about to die. I hope and pray we can reverse that. We need to get out of our mind...and have the mind of Christ. Have the same desire as Jesus. It is God's will that no one should perish but come to repentance.

That is where we come in. Jesus done his part. He died and bled on the cross, was buried in a grave and on the third day God raised him from the grave and is alive! As believers we are to share that message. Matthew 28:19,20 tells us to go and make disciples, baptize them, and then to teach them Jesus' commands. We are to make disciples so they can make disciples and so on.

Let's get charged by the Holy Spirit and reach people for Jesus. Let's be zealous about people without Jesus and we are about our phones about to die.
